What we record when you open a link

To measure campaigns, each visit records limited information:

  • The link that was opened, and when.
  • The approximate country.
  • The type of device and browser (for example, "mobile, Safari").
  • Only the name of the website you came from (for example, "instagram.com"), never the full address.
  • Whether the visit looks automated (bots aren't counted as people).
  • An anonymous code so a person who visits again isn't counted twice. Nobody can work out who you are from it.

What we never store

  • Your IP address.
  • The full address of the page you came from.
  • Your name, email or any account information.
  • Advertising cookies or tracking cookies.

How we use it

Only to show Alterno's team totals: how many clicks and people, and from which countries and devices. We don't sell this information or use it to identify anyone.

Who can see it

The employee who created the link, and Alterno administrators. Stats are only shown inside Alterno Workspace.

Destination pages

After you're sent to the destination, its own privacy policy applies.
